winter 10x10: outfit 1
For the first day of the winter 10x10, I decided to keep it warm in both material and color. I fell in love with this rust orange sweater the minute I saw it and it's since become a staple of my winter maternity style. It's stretchy, soft, warm, and the color gives me life. And I'm not just talking about making me feel wonderful, I legitimately think this color brings out the warmth in my skin, my hair and eyes. It brightens me up, which is exactly what I need in the dead of winter.
I say dead of winter like I live somewhere where it's actually cold. I realize my Californian winters are comparatively mild. Still, the lack of sunlight takes its toll on me, so just humor my dramatics.
Back to this outfit. I like to layer t shirts under my sweaters to help me extend the number of wears of (read: decrease the number of times I need to wash) each sweater. Most of the time, I keep the t shirt out of sight but I thought it'd be a cool styling detail to have this copper colored t shirt peeking through at the bottom. Bonus: it helps cover the belly band over my jeans!
Some good, dark wash jeans and my chelsea rain boots complete the clothing part of this outfit. I wore my new-to-me bag with a bandana that complimented the t shirt to round out the warm yellow and orange tones of this look.
