holiday gift guide for toddlers

The holiday shopping season is upon us. I’ve rounded up a short list of items we’ve loved and items on our wish list below. I opt for open ended toys and quality clothing that will last long enough to be a hand-me-down. My hope is this helps give you some ideas if you’re stuck on what to get the toddler in your life! Let’s jump in.

  1. Push Wagon — A multifunctional toy that will give toddlers practice pulling up and walking plus a chance to exercise their transport schema.

  2. Alphabet Puzzle — We own and love this puzzle. It’s beautifully handmade and has grown with our now 3.5 year old.

  3. Boots — My top two recommendations are the Ugg soft soled sherpa booties for younger toddlers and the Native Rain Boots for older tots. Both have held up extremely well with our kids!

  4. Balance Board — Ours is from Kinderfeets but there are lots of great brands out there. It took our oldest a while to enjoy the balancing part of this board, but it’s gotten so much use as a slide, a ramp, a tunnel, etc. for years and it still looks new.

  5. Truck Utensils — Not really a toy, but fun kid cutlery is a great stocking stuffer gift for kids. I’ll also be picking up some child chopsticks.

  6. Tricycle/Balance Bike — There’s a reason there are three Kinderfeets products in this gift guide! I love this brand. This bike has grown with our kiddo from tricycle to balance bike.

  7. Play Silks — We love Sarah’s Silks and always ask for play silks as gifts. Their seasonal collections are always so beautiful and the silks get played with all day everyday in our home.

  8. Object Permanence Box — I love that Lovevery is finally selling single toys! This object permanence box is on our list for our toddler.

  9. Books — We strive to speak English and Spanish in our home, and books are an excellent tool for that! We’ll be getting books about bodies to learn in a fun way.

  10. Knitwear — I love a little one in knitwear! It’s so cute and cozy.

  11. Paint Sticks — A mix between paint and crayons, these are an art kit staple in our home.

  12. Pound and Tap Bench Toy -- Another multi-use toy, this hammer and tap bench comes with a xylophone that has been so loved by our kids!

I know this time of year can be a bit overwhelming with gift guides and sales. My hope in creating these is simply to give you a more structured version of the recommendations I would give to my close friends and family.

Happy shopping! I have a round up of items below but you’re also welcome to check my Amazon Storefront, where most of these items are available.
