IDENTITY COFFEES

1430 28th St. Sacramento // 6AM-7PM

I settled into a coffee shop rotation within a few months of moving to Sacramento. Sometime last month, on a rainy, windy day, I asked Brandon if he’d like to try a new coffee shop with me. He’s a great, easy-going guy, so of course he said yes and we headed out to Identity Coffees.

I found Identity on Instagram (where else?! lol) during one of my many research binges. I’m always looking for new, interesting coffee shops to check out and my favorite way to do that is with Instagram and Google Maps.

The shop itself has a really cool vibe. Reclaimed wood and black metal pop against the cool gray walls and concrete floors. It feels like hanging out behind the scenes probably because there’s a plain view into the roasting area. The whole place is so bright which is maybe my favorite thing about this place. There are lots of skylights and big windows. The entire space is nice and open and there’s tons of seating with lots of outlets.

The first time I visited Identity, Brandon and I both ordered large drinks. I was surprised when they walked our hot drinks out in glass pints! It was so cool. Brandon said it was the best chai latte he’s ever had, and he’s had about 1000 of those since I started dragging hi— ahem — introducing him to coffee shops.

To my fellow espresso lovers, let me just tell you that this coffee is gooooood. So smooth and delicious. The baristas are super nice here, too! Good coffee and sweet baristas? Double win.

I’m so glad I found this place. If you find yourself in midtown, definitely give this place a try! Hang out and enjoy the airy space for a while or bring your travel mug and take your coffee on the go!

Oh! I almost forgot to mention that Identity Coffees also hosts the Midtown Bizarre market which features local makers and artists every second Saturday of the month! I’ve been working most Saturdays but I can’t wait to check one of these markets out.

Happy coffee-ing!
