summer 10x10 day 2: thrifted tee + cotton shorts
Welcome to day 2 of the summer 10x10!
We have plans to spend the day visiting Brandon’s family so they can hang out with Isaac. These are good, low key Saturdays where we lounge around, eat all the barbecue and fruit and catnap while the grandparents love on our babe. Because we’ll be inside with the AC pumping (and because I run cold), I know this tee is the perfect pick. I paired it with my cotton shorts because 1) napping in denim isn’t as great as napping in cotton and 2) elastic waistbands are your friend when you know you’re going to spend your day eating and hanging out.
I was a little apprehensive about including such a thick material in the summer 10x10 since the weather in Sacramento is set to hover in and around the 100-degree mark. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized that we stay inside during the worst of the heat. Plus, you know places drop the AC to 65 when it’s hotter than 85 outside, so a thicker material works out OK.

I’ve said before that the copper t shirt I wore during the winter 10x10 was my favorite thing I’ve ever thrifted. But the more I wear this top, the more this light green tee is giving it a run for its money. I love the vintage, tom boy cut of this tee and the material is awesome too – it’s thick, almost like a sweatshirt. And the color is sooooo good.
I styled it with my favorite locally made tassel earrings by Tinsel and Oak. They add just enough oomph to an otherwise muted palette. I finished it off with my hybrid smartwatch. I find having a watch so helpful nowadays. Being able to check the time even when my phone's out of reach is super helpful when it comes to troubleshooting fussiness.
Another simple (possible boring) outfit. It's comfortable, nursing friendly and is made up of my favorite colors. Perfect for a chill Saturday.
